MY SIDE TEASER
Yesterday I talked about the “other side”. It was brought to my attention that I tend to leave things vague from time to time. Yep, I do that. Sometimes it is very unintentional and sometimes I do it on purpose but most of the time, I just don’t realize I am doing it. I appreciate, in fact I beg for it, this interaction about something I think or feel and the questioning of it. Whether it is we don’t see eye to eye, we are looking through the same eyes, or if it is simply…what the hell was that.
Let’s attempt to be simple and clear. The “other side”… is just anyone that does not have a sense of urgency that they are headed to paradise anytime soon. “My side”…we are the Yo, Penthouse Dude, we headed your way. Now both sides could be broken down further, but this is probably enough for now. Maybe you don’t see this as two distinct sides like I do. I am OK with that because until you are wide awake at 4:00 am pouring your heart out to the millions of folks around the world…yes…type it with me…I DON’T GIVE A POOP! I do hope everyone understands all my sarcasm, there is a ton of sarcasm in my world.
I got to be over at the gym for an early work out this morning so rambling down 33 Highway right now is going to be brief. I just want to hit on my interpretation of “my side” and confuse those that are confused a bit more. My side is not just folks that are in MY situation. My side is for anyone that is having issues or struggles with anything that makes you feel like there are two sides as well. If you’re not sure what I mean, then you are on the other side. For me it is just that simple. My side knows they are on my side. I think the other side questions where they are or where they belong. Please, I am not trying to separate folks. Just right now for me and where I am at with all of this, this is how I see things. I am all about bringing my side and the other side together. In fact, that was all I could think about for the first few months. However, Thig and I have come to the conclusion, and it was a huge relief when we did, this will never happen and that is fine. Why I think this is not the topic right now and I will some day try to explain, but not today.
Here is my current agenda with my side. Number one, meet who is on my side! I JUST GOT HERE, and I do not know any of these folks. Number two, love, work and play with the other side but just let them be on the other side. Number three, learn how to mix the sides up. Pretty simple game plan for now. Penthouse Dude has me figured out and he seems to like this game of trying to get me to get everyone else to figure me out.
That’s going to do it for now…my simple, complicated journey continues…I have big plans!

FEB 05, 2025 • Important word here is "empathy". Not sympathy but empathy. That's what others sometimes need. Brene Brown has a great little video to illustrate. Indian proverb about not judging until you've walked a mile in another's shoes. I may not know how another's situation feels but I can sit with you in it and let you tell me about it. That, IMHO is just what you've been doing.
